Explorer Notes Due Tomorrow!

Sep 16, 2015 by

Dear Parents,

While studying early exploration, students were gripped with the desire to write research reports on famous explorers. Hard to imagine, but they were begging to do research reports on them!

I aim to please! On Tuesday, students were given the opportunity to choose their explorer and begin taking notes on their early life, their explorations and the routes they sailed. They were given 2 hours to work on this yesterday and another 1.5+ hours today. This research time was structured with graphic organizers and research material was provided in class.

Their notes are due tomorrow, Thursday. They should have had plenty of time to work on this in class, but may need to finish their note packets tonight at home. Their note packet will be turned in for a grade before they begin their rough draft.

Please ask to see your child’s note packet tonight and encourage them to finish any uncompleted note pages. Funny, but a few students have claimed they were done and then magically remembered they weren’t when I asked to see their packets. ;)

The rough and final drafts should be completed in class, but again, some students may need to work on them at home as well. Thank you for your support, and please let me know if you have any questions!
